Cowhide prints an on-trend design choice

Cowhide is an on-trend animal print today, one that lends pattern and color to a room. Cowhide also adds a touch of what some call “cowboy chic.”

The stylemakers at Houzz.com also note that cowhide “can add warmth, texture, luxury, pattern, color and a sense of fun to a room. A rich brown and white cowhide rug in front of a fireplace sends one message; a modern table upholstered in black and white cowhide sends another. This isn’t a design option for the shy, but it’s definitely one that’s worth testing out in your home.” If you’d like to see a gallery of images of cowhide furniture used in interior design, click here.

One intriguing use of a cowhide print in a modern piece of furniture is this handsome bench recently featured in a display in our showrooms at Knox and Panoply. This bench offers a bit of old-west flair. It features a faux cowhide fabric-covered cushion in cream and dark brown. The bench is crafted of solid mahogany wood and finished in a heavily distressed teal color. The bench can serve as extra seating, and it can also double as an ottoman, making it perfect for the bar, the bedroom, or any casual living space. This piece measures 22 inches wide, 19 inches high and 18 inches deep.
