Newnan Interior Design & Consulting | Tips for Hanging Framed Art

Hanging framed art seems like it should be an easy task and it can be, but sometimes the end result isn’t always the desired result. The framed piece may end up looking too small or too big for the space. Or maybe the collage of pictures you put together doesn’t look magazine perfect like you imagined it would.  If something like that has ever happened to you – take a look at our favorite tip for hanging framed pieces perfectly every time!

Use Newspaper

One of our favorite tips for hanging pictures is to use cut out pieces of newspaper (or any paper really) to determine the sizes you should use on each specific wall. A common mistake is eyeballing the wall and guessing what size frame would look best there. Try cutting out paper and using an adhesive like tape to see how certain sizes will look in the space available. You may find that the size frame you thought would look perfect there looks too small or too big. This will save you a lot of trouble down the road. Using cut-out paper before hand will also allow you to determine the best hanging placements and also to arrange a collage pattern in advance.  The best part is you can do all of this without putting any holes in the wall. So just keep at! Try different sizes and patterns until you find the combination that you are happy with and will love forever. And when you are done, you can just toss the paper in the recycling bin!
