Woodward Bench from Hickory Chair inspired by antique French original

Woodward Bench from the Suzanne Kasler Collection at Hickory Chair

It’s no surprise that classic furniture designs of the past continue to influence furniture designs of today. One great example of such inspiration is the Woodward Bench from the Suzanne Kasler Collection at Hickory Chair.

The Woodward Bench was inspired by an antique French Louis XVI bench with arms. Like the original antique bench, the piece has fluted, tapered legs and arms with hand-carved details. The base is upholstered with a loose seat cushion and two round bolsters. This piece comes standard with welt around the arms and base only, and the paint finish shown is Birch. Two 7-1/2 x 26-inch goose feather bolsters are standard on this bench, as is the Luxury Spring-Down seat cushion. The back of the Woodward Bench is flat to allow flush placement against a wall. The center stretcher is decorative.

The designer behind this piece for Hickory Chair, Atlanta designer Suzanne Kasler, is known for creating warm, inviting environments that strike a balance between elegant, traditional design and practical comfort. She has collaborated with Hickory Chair to bring that same spirit to her new line of furniture, Suzanne Kasler for Hickory Chair. Kasler is known for her love of all things French and brings a fresh mix of Continental flavor and classic style to her interiors.
